Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is a zine?
A fanzine, zine for short, is a term combined from the words fan and magazine. It is a booklet made for fans by fans. It is a non-official publication either in the form of PDF or physical book, often containing a mix of artworks and written works for a specific series, fan group or event.

Q. Will this be a digital or physical zine?
This will be a fully digital project! We will not be making a physical zine at all.

Q. Why won’t you consider a physical zine?
We sadly acknowledge that Monoma is a minor character. It would be difficult to break even for sales if we have a physical zine. Also, we would like to include writers and have a higher word count, which would significantly hike up production costs.

Q. Will this be a for-profit, charity or free zine?
This is going to be a for-profit zine! Contributors can choose to privately donate their own profits to charities.

Q. What can contributors expect to receive in return for their work?
Contributors will receive a share of the profits and PDF copies of the zine.

Q. Will this zine be Safe for Work (SFW) or Not Safe for Work (NSFW)? What counts as NSFW?
This will be a NSFW zine! Other than sexual content, we also count these as NSFW:
GoreViolenceTortureDrugs/Alcohol

Q. What are the rules for the main NSFW PDF? Any banned content?
In the main NSFW PDF, all characters must be aged up. Banned content includes:
Canon adult characters/MonomaScat/Pissing/EmetoIncestDubcon/nonconGuro (romantic gore), such as knife play and cannibalism. Slavery/Human Trafficking

Q: What are the rules for the hard kinks NSFW PDF? Any banned content?
Absolutely none. Although all content will be tagged, tread carefully.

Q. What contributors are you looking for?
For the main NSFW zine, we are looking for 5-8 writers, 15-25 artists and 3-5 merch artists. For the hard kinks NSFW zine, we are looking for 3-5 writers and 10-15 artists.
(All contributors must be 18+ for both zines. Contributor numbers are subject to change depending on apps received.)

Q: What digital merch are you looking for?
We are thinking of having Icons, Emotes, Phone/Desktop Wallpapers, Printable Bookmarks, Printable Cup sleeves and printable stickers. These do not have to be explicitly NSFW in nature.

Q. What’s the word count for writers?
Writers will have a word count of 3000 to 5000 words to work with. This word count applies to all zines.

Q. Will this be canon-compliant, or are AUs allowed?
AUs are allowed!

Q. What are the contributor requirements? How do we prepare a portfolio for application?
Requirements are listed here!

Q. Can I apply as for multiple positions? Will I be accepted for multiple positions?
Yes you can! We will have a question in the application forms to ask if you want to be accepted in multiple positions.

Q. Will minors be allowed to contribute/purchase the zine?
This is an R18+ zine. Absolutely NO MINORS will be allowed to participate in the zine. If we find out that a contributor has been lying about their age, they will be banned from our zine and blacklisted from future projects.
